Who killed the Kritios Boy?

One sculpture that I have always enjoyed, and was thrilled to see in person at the (new) Acropolis Museum was the Kritios Boy. A little blurb, concerning who committed the axe blow to the back of the neck, its dating and relationship to the findspot.
