I heard about this book from my weekly podcast of This American Life. ...which, by the way, if you have never listened to, you have no idea what you are missing. Each episode is based around a central theme, with different narrative from different people.
One of the episodes dealt with people who have been affected by death. One of the speakers (an author: Darin Strauss) spoke on how he had killed a girl when he was 18...how it stayed with him, haunted him, pushed him, and how he dealt with the guilt that came with and after the accident. So far, it's a great book, very touching, very sad... but hopeful in a strange way.
Yeah, I know...not a book about art/archaeology, etc.... but I start to go crazy if I do not read other things...
