Today was a fairly quick one: we were given a tour of the site by John Camp, head of excavations. He showed us a few places where we would be digging, specifically the Stoa Poikile and the Altar of Zeus area. We were then given a tour of the storage rooms at the Stoa of Attalos and the labs there. We had a brief lecture on tools and how to tell the differences between lead, bronze, and other metals. When finished, I headed home to catch up on sleep and prepare for the first day.

I should also mention this: We had heard there was going to be a general strike on Wednesday. We were told that some things may be shut down, but no one knew exactly what. On the way through Syntagma Square, we saw lots of protesters camping inside the square. It was full of banners, which all pointed to blaming the government for the debt crisis the country was in.
